Privacy Policy
CutDrop ("we", "us") is a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro that exports videos and uploads them to Google Drive, and downloads media from Google Drive into organized Premiere Pro bins. This policy explains what data CutDrop accesses, how it's used, and how it's stored.
1. Google user data we access
When you sign in with Google, CutDrop requests a single permission: "See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app" (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file). This means CutDrop can only access:
- Files and folders that CutDrop itself creates in your Drive (your "CutDrop" folder and client folders, and the videos it uploads).
- Files and folders you explicitly select in Google's file picker inside CutDrop.
CutDrop cannot see, list or open any other files in your Google Drive. We also read your Google account email address and Drive storage quota to show which account is connected and to check there is enough space before an upload.
For links you paste that are shared as "Anyone with the link", CutDrop downloads the files using Google's public API access, without using your account.
2. How we use that data
- Uploading: create a folder for each of your clients, upload your exported video into it, and make the folder viewable by anyone with its link so you can send it to your client.
- Downloading: list and download the files in the Drive links or picker selections you provide, so they can be organized and imported into Premiere Pro.
- Account status: show your email address and free Drive space in the plugin.
We use Google user data only to provide these features you request. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models.
3. Where data is stored
- Your Google sign-in tokens and your list of client folders are stored only on your computer, in a
.cutdropfolder in your user directory. - Downloaded and exported media are stored where you choose on your computer, and in your own Google Drive.
- We do not copy your Google data, tokens or media to any server operated by us.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share Google user data with anyone. Data moves only between your computer and Google's servers. The only sharing CutDrop performs is the one you ask for: making a client folder viewable by anyone who has its link.
5. Purchases and license keys
Payments are processed by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. When CutDrop checks your license, it sends your license key to Lemon Squeezy to confirm it's valid. No Google data is included in that check.
6. Deleting your data and revoking access
- Click Sign out in CutDrop to delete the sign-in tokens from your computer.
- Revoke CutDrop's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete the
.cutdropfolder in your user directory to remove all locally stored CutDrop data. - Files CutDrop uploaded stay in your Google Drive until you delete them.
7. Google API Services User Data Policy
CutDrop's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. Children
CutDrop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced on this website.
